"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more,
do more and become more, you are a leader.”

Peace Begins At Home

"Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for parents. Parents have very little time for each other, and in the home begins the disruption of the peace of the world." Mother Theresa of Calcutta

It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself. ~Joyce Maynard

Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you. ~Robert Fulghum

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children. ~Charles R. Swindoll, The Strong Family

Sensible Parenting™

From our north Austin-Pflugerville location, we at Sensible Parenting provide; the five-week parenting course, Redirecting Children's Behavior™ (RCB™.)  We also provide parent coaching/mentoring, and workshops that cover a wide range of family relationship challenges and issues. We do not provide clinical therapy. If you need those services we encourage you to seek that help from providers that are best qualified to provide for those needs.

However, it is often not therapy that parents need...at least not at first.  It is rather the issues that are left unaddressed, or are addressed unsuccessfully that later on may create the need for professional counceling and therapy.

If you just want better communications, better understanding about why children are being...well, "children," then RCB may be of great value. If you want to learn additional, or perhaps more loving and more effective skills and techniques to resolve family problems related to; trust, respect, discipline, self-reliance, accountability, self-control, etc...then RCB can be a great opportunity for you to learn how to teach these critical life lessons to your children without pulling your own hair out.

Life as a parent can be wonderful, and on occasion...just terrible...It can be awesome, split your sides funny, and sometimes sad beyond the depths of our comprehension. It is often amazingly challenging, but if we are committed, and do our best, and know what to do, and when to do it...it can be unbelievably rewarding.

If you are looking for answers about how to resolve problems with your children that leave you feeling over-challenged, at a loss for words or actions...If you have tried everything you know, and know you don't have the answers...or perhaps not the best answers to the challenges as a parent...then the Redirecting Children's Behavior™ course at Sensible Parenting™ may be just what you are looking for.

In our fast-paced society, adults and children spend much of their time in separate environments. So it is natural to want to make the most of the time we have together. However, it can sometimes become difficult for us to give enough of ourselves or get enough of what we want from our family relationships (and from all of our relationships in our lives.)

But you can have the kind of relationship with your children you have dreamed of, and you can help them develop skills to become loving, motivated and successful adults. Our five week RCB course (three hours once per week) will provide many skills and techniques for improving relationships and creating a more enjoyable life at home.

If you just want more peace in your home, RCB can be a great addition to your parenting skills.

The Course

The five week advanced parenting skills and techniques course was originally developed by Kathryn Kvols author of the book "Redirecting Children's Behavior" and founder of the International Network for Children and Families ( INCAF™.) All Redirecting Children's Behavior (RCB™) instructors, including Sensible Parenting instructors are certified by INCAF, and must recertify each year.
